Stevenston Business Centre

We are currently in the process of awarding tenders for the construction of a new-build office property in the centre of Stevenston.

Stevenston Business Centre will provide flexible, quality accommodation for small and start-up businesses in modern and well equipped surroundings.

The building will extend to some 1025m² over two floors on a brownfield town centre site extending to some 0.18Ha.

The proposed timescale is for work to commence on site in September 2010 and be complete by September 2011.

We envisage that the building will be a steel framed construction with insitu concrete composite floor slabs. At this stage vibro compaction is envisaged. External walls may comprise a palate of zinc cladding/natural stone, cladding/facing brick and render.

Our intention is to procure the works on the basis of a Traditional Single Stage competitive tender. Bills of quantities will be issued.

The contract value is expected to be in the region of £1.75m.

• Dispatch of invitations to tender to selected candidates 7 June 2010

The successful tenderer will be announced later in the summer.
