The provision of high quality primary, secondary and further education is essential for the regeneration of Irvine Bay. Each of the towns in the area offers primary and secondary education, with further education available at James Watt College which established its successful Kilwinning campus in 2003.

In 2000, James Watt College opened a new campus in Kilwinning with state of the art facilities and space for 6000 students.
