Kilwinning Academy launch their anti-litter campaign

Pupils from Kilwinning Academy show off their anti-litter campaign

This week Promoting Kilwinning is taking a hands-on role as part of ‘National Clean Up Week’ – Keep Scotland Beautiful national events

As part of this national event, 1st year pupils from Kilwinning Academy were invited to design an anti-litter campaign for the town in an innovative initiative led by Irvine Bay Regeneration Company, and supported by ‘Promoting Kilwinning’ and North Ayrshire Council’s Cleansing Department.

The first-year groups, each of 20, had been organised entirely by the pupils and the project has encouraged creativity, communication and teamwork.

North Ayrshire Council is supporting the launch and providing the pupils with litter sticks and clothes covers. ‘Keep Scotland Beautiful’ is providing their litter pack – ponchos, stickers, litter sticks, etc.
