One of the worlds highest profile and record breaking round the world racing yachts was hosted by Clyde Marina in July.
Fresh back in the UK from sponsor's duties for Hugo Boss with the Maclaren F1 team at the Monaco Grand Prix, followed by the Kiel international regatta in Germany, Alex Thomsons` Open 60 Hugo Boss berthed at Ardrossan's Clyde Marina, complete with his shore team 'pit crew'. Alex and the Hugo Boss team chose Clyde Marina as a base to support their sponsor during the Open at Turnberry.
The round the world racing team and holders of world speed records now head off for Cowes Week and the Fastnet Race, followed by the Transat Jaques Fabres Transatlantic Race in the autumn.
Clyde Marina's MD Simon Limb commented: “We are delighted to see such high profile teams sailing in Scotland and were very pleased to be able to offer the full range of facilities that these yachts require”.
