Trinity Church prepares for new high points

Developers and locals keen to secure the future of a landmark Ayrshire building can view the dizzying scale of work already carried out.

Trinity Church in the centre of Irvine soars to more than 50m, and a video podcast of the inspection of the spire has been put online by Irvine Bay Regeneration Company to help market the development potential of the A-listed building and also to keep local people informed of the work being carried out.

The company has already carried out significant works to protect, preserve and secure the building including the removal of a pigeon infestation, general repairs, the construction of a new roof and the comprehensive survey of the spire.

Patrick Wiggins, Chief Executive of Irvine Bay Regeneration Company, said: “Trinity Church is a landmark building on a prominent site that has, over a number of years, been allowed to fall into a state of severe disrepair.

“Working with our partners, North Ayrshire Council and Trinity Church Trust, we have made a significant investment in getting the building much better suited for future development, and we will be marketing the building as a fantastic development opportunity.”

During the podcast, the surveyor can be seen and heard inspecting the building at 9m, 13m, 34m and 50m levels – complete with dizzying views down to the ground below.
