A scheme is being launched aimed at putting Saltcoats in a new and improved shop window.
The Saltcoats Shopfront Improvement Scheme is being run by Irvine Bay Regeneration Company following the conclusion of a successful pilot project.
The pilot saw the refurbishment of two shops in the town centre – Babies World and T Baillie & Son butchers. This saw sketch designs prepared, reviewed, and approved before the work was carried out.

James Baillie of T Baillie & Son said: “I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to upgrade the front of my shop with the help of Irvine Bay and would urge any shop to take advantage of this. It not only enhances the look of your shop and hopefully your business but also the street in general which helps to bring people into the town.
“A town or street with attractive and well designed shops is much more likely to attract a higher footfall – bringing increased trade to everyone – so we welcome the roll-out of the scheme and urge others to get involved.”
Patrick Wiggins, Chief Executive of Irvine Bay, said: “Improving the visual appearance and character of important streetscapes is a vital part of our activity, in our efforts to create places where people will thrive, businesses will flourish and communities will grow.
“Retail is an important part of our communities, and we hope that the success of the pilot projects can be repeated.”
