Irvine Bay Regeneration Company said that Baroness Margaret Ford has resigned as Chair due to her business commitments.
The successor to Baroness Ford, who has chaired the company since October 2006, will be announced following the next meeting of the Board.
Patrick Wiggins, Chief Executive, said: “Baroness Ford has been an enthusiastic and supportive Chair, and we would like to place on record our thanks for her help and guidance during her years at the helm.”
Elma Murray, Chief Executive of North Ayrshire Council, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with Baroness Ford during her tenure as Chair of Irvine Bay Regeneration Company.
“She has provided inspiration and has helped to ensure that the company has continued to enjoy success in challenging circumstances.”
North Ayrshire Councillor Matthew Brown, Member of the Board of Directors for IBRC, said: “In the years that she has given to Irvine Bay, Baroness Ford has shown insight and great leadership.
“We have always appreciated that, given her wide experience and other responsibilities, she might not be available to us forever. That said, the whole of North Ayrshire has reason to be grateful and we wish her every success in her future ventures.”
