Irvine Bay Regeneration Company has begun the process of creating a stunning new hotel at the marina in Ardrossan.
The company has instructed agents to promote the Ardrossan quayside site for hotel development, with a view to creating a 40-bedroomed hotel with a 50-seater bar restaurant and a function suite for 100 people.
Patrick Wiggins, Chief Executive of Irvine Bay, said: “The hotel is a key element of our plans to expand and enhance the marina at Ardrossan, and we are confident that there will be significant interest. Not only is this an attractive site in a prominent setting, but Ardrossan Harbour is the terminal for the Ardrossan - Arran ferry with an annual footfall in excess of 700,000 passengers.
“We have instructed the hotels department of Jones Lang LaSalle to market the site, and they view it as one of the best trading locations for a hotel in the area and any operator will be able to maximise business, tourist and general leisure trade. Ayrshire’s golf courses, including Turnberry, Gailes, Royal Troon, Prestwick, Barassie and Dundonald are also within easy reach.
Financial assistance may also be provided by the Irvine Bay Regeneration Company to the preferred bidder to assist in development should it be required.
