An organisation with a major impact on the financial well-being of hundreds of people in the Irvine Bay area can present a brave new face to the world.
The 1st Alliance (Ayrshire) Credit Union has seen its Main Street premises in Kilwinning undergo a major transformation – thanks in large part to Irvine Bay Regeneration Company.
Around £17,000 was contributed towards the cost of a complete refit of the front office, and the creation of two private rooms for consultations with customers.
Carol McHarg, Manager of the credit union, said: “After Irvine Bay did the work in the Main Street we felt our own offices were looking a bit tatty. We approached them to see what we could do to improve our own facilities. We are delighted with the outcome, and we can now present a much more professional face and we can have consultations with customers with much greater privacy.”
The union provides an invaluable financial service to local people, and last year paid out more than £1 million in loans.
Patrick Wiggins, Chief Executive of Irvine Bay, said: “We were delighted to work with the credit union on their premises in Main Street. The work we did to transform Main Street has seen new businesses open, and existing businesses invest in their facilities.
“The credit union provides an invaluable service, and one we were happy to support.
