Win an iPad 2 as you enjoy all Big on the Beach can offer

Win an iPad2!

Young people are being given a chance to hear more about a fun summer festival and at the same time to win a sought-after iPad 2.

Irvine Bay Regeneration Company is now on Facebook to ensure the regeneration message is getting through to the younger generation.

Patrick Wiggins, Chief Executive, said: “We'll be posting all the latest news on Facebook in the run-up to Big on the Beach, so 'Like' us – and tell your friends – so we can spread the word about exactly what's happening.
“We're also running a competition...It's aimed at encouraging local young people to get involved in regeneration. There are three iPad 2s to be won, with the competition being promoted during Big on the Beach. Like us on Facebook and you'll hear all about the details, who can enter and what you'll need to do.

“You and your friends can help to make a difference to Irvine Bay if you get involved.”

Big on the Beach at Ardrossan South Beach has become a highlight in the August calendar. It is now in its third-year, having run in 2009 and 2010. This year the event takes place from 4 - 6 August 2011.

Activities will include power kite flying, kite-boarding, windsurfing, a make-your-own-boats boating pond, treasure hunt, book sale, inflatables, assault course, bouncy castle, bungee trampolines, gyroscope, laserquest, basketball and for younger children facepainting, an animal show, a ball pool and a soft play area.

There will also be a number of shows, and WestFM will be broadcasting from the event.

Patrick Wiggins added: “This community festival of fun and creativity is supported and delivered by local partners and community groups. It provides a wide range of events and activities including arts, sports, dance, music, media and lifestyle opportunities.

“Regeneration is about more than improving the physical infrastructure of an area. It is about engaging with and enthusing the people who live in that area. This event promotes Irvine Bay as a fantastic place in which to live and to play, and we are happy to see so many young people enjoying themselves.

“We strongly believe that the coast is our main asset and that improvements to the seafront and investment in related activities can re-ignite local regeneration opportunities and take advantage of the new emerging day-visitor and short-stay markets.”
