Ardrossan residents can feed into marina plans
Ardrossan residents and businesses are being given a chance to find out more about plans to extend the town’s marina – and to have their say on the proposals.
Irvine Bay Regeneration Company is currently preparing a planning application for an extension to the existing Ardrossan marina. Proposals include a new breakwater, facilities building, car park and boat storage at the inner dock and Montgomerie Pier.
It is intended to submit a planning application in February 2011. As part of the process, the regeneration company is keen to hear the views of local people as well as keeping them informed on progress.
The public consultation event takes place on Wednesday 12th January 2011 between 2pm and 7pm at the Michael Lynch Centre, 71 Princes Street, Ardrossan.
Patrick Wiggins, Chief Executive of Irvine Bay Regeneration Company, said: “This is an opportunity for people to see the proposals, tell us what they think and ask any questions of the project team. It is valuable to get that feedback.
“However I should stress that this is not the same as making representations to the planning authority. Once the planning application is submitted, there will be an opportunity to make representations on that application directly to North Ayrshire Council.”
This project is part of the development of Ardrossan North Shore.
