Farmers’ market sets out Kilwinning stall
An open meeting is being held in Kilwinning to let residents hear about plans to introduce a farmers’ market to the town.
The plans are a partnership between the Ayrshire Farmers Market Co-operative, the Ayrshire Food Network, and Irvine Bay Regeneration Company.
The meeting takes place at 6.30pm on Tuesday, June 1st at Taylors Hotel in Byers Road, Kilwinning.
Patrick Wiggins, Chief Executive of Irvine Bay Regeneration Company, said: “Our aim is to host an initial market later this year, once the work on Kilwinning Main Street has been completed, with a programme of four markets then taking place in 2011.
“Farmers’ markets have proven to be a successful draw in attracting people to visit town centres, and to shop there, and we are keen to see how this might work in Kilwinning.”
The work being carried out at Kilwinning Main Street has seen the streetscape transformed.
