New restaurant for Kilwinning
Work is currently under way on a new restaurant in Kilwinning which will create jobs and increase footfall in the town centre.
The Corner House bar and restaurant is set to open later this summer on Howgate. Ayrshire restaurant chain Buzzworks purchased the site in 2012 where the new eatery will replace the derelict pub, The Stag and Hound.
The refurbishment of Kilwinning Main Street was completed in 2010 with new paving, seating, lighting and landscaping designed to attract new business, create jobs and increase visitor numbers. Irvine Bay are supporting the new development by providing funding to restore the external facade to its original stone, helping to improve the look of the local area.
This latest positive development for Kilwinning Town Centre is set to create 46 FTE jobs.
Buzzworks currently operates several highly successful restaurants in Ayrshire: Scotts, Largs; Longhouse, Kilmarnock; Lido and Elliotts in Prestwick; Scotts and Lido, Troon; and Treehouse, Ayr. The firm opened their latest venture, The Millhouse in Stewarton in 2015.
North Ayrshire Concil have also provided grant funding for the project.
