Strategic Environmental Assessment

In recognition of the importance of the natural environment in Irvine Bay, and in pursuit of good practice, we have carried out a Strategic Environmental Assessment of our plans and programmes. The Environment Report is complete and outlines a number of opportunities to ensure we minimise any negative environmental impacts and promote opportunities to enhance the environment through our development activities.

It is our aspiration that the regeneration projects we develop enhance the fantastic natural environment in the Irvine Bay area.

With this in mind, we are promoting the redevelopment of our local town centres in this area of North Ayrshire to encourage use of local service and use of public transport. We are promoting office developments with the highest possible environmental standards, demonstrating best practice in this field. 

In addition, we are keen to encourage appreciation of the wildlife in this part of Scotland. The Irvine Bay area currently suffers from land degeneration and contamination, and we are working to decontaminate land and bring it back into use.
