Scottish Maritime Museum cafe

A new coffee shop has been created at the Scottish Maritime Museum at Irvine Harbour. This important development follows the loss of the old coffee shop through storm damage which resulted in a very marked decline in visitor footfall for the harbourside section of the Maritime Museum.

The new coffee shop provision has provided a greatly enhanced facility for visitors and locals. The former coffee shop was very popular with locals and community groups.

The coffee shop provision has created the equivalent of 4 full time jobs and operates on a seven day week basis throughout the year.

The capacity takes full coach parties and opens up new opportunities at Irvine Harbour.

The funding support provided by Irvine Bay through the Local Regeneration Fund met the gap in the capital funding of the project.
