Scottish Enterprise and Irvine Bay have been working together to develop a way forward for i3, Irvine Innovation and Industry, formerly the Riverside Business Park.
The aim is for i3 at Irvine, Scotland, to become south west Scotland’s leading innovation and industrial investment location.
Within the site three campus locations will each have its own business focus:
Facilities for specialist distribution, industrial and manufacturing companies, suitable for small, medium or large companies seeking 2,000 to 4,000m2.
This high amenity campus will provide specialist, high broadband accommodation for SMEs seeking 500m2 to 2,000m2 pavilions or similar Class 4/5 office, R&D or specialist space.
Specialist inward investment opportunity offering a 250 acre single user site with capacity for 500,000m2. The site has dedicated access and would be suitable for large specialist users.
The current estimate cost of this development work is £1.2m over 6 years. A detailed costed action plan will follow, along with a legal agreement with Scottish Enterprise.
A planning application will be submitted during 2011.
A tender is currently available for refurbishment work at Riverside Business Park.
