Irvine Bay fun run

Over the last three years Irvine Bay's very own fun run has become an annual event.

The 2011 fun run, took place on 7 August, following a 10K route around Irvine Bay. Bring family a friends to enjoy a great summer run.

Participants were well supported by enthusiastic spectators, despite the drizzle.

Irvine Bay Regeneration Company was delighted to support the family-friendly event which was organised by local running-enthusiast, Jim Montgomerie, also known as The Running Kilt.

The 10k route took participants along the coast on an extremely attractive route.

Jim Montgomerie:

Another brilliant day. It was really gratifying to see so many runners, and more importantly, local people turning out to cheer everyone on. There was such a happy vibe, and a real community spirit. I am already thinking of ways to improve the event for next year.
