Kilwinning: our town - past, present and future

Pupils from primary and secondary schools in Kilwinning took part in a project to look at the regeneration of their town through the theme of ‘Kilwinning: our town - past, present and future’.

Each school selected a particular topic, gathering information about the Irvine Bay ‘i play’ theme and charting the progress of regeneration in Kilwinning.

The project was part of the induction programme for secondary and was featured as an exhibition in Kilwinning Academy in June 2011.

Our project involved

• Many different subject areas, including  ICT, expressive arts, design, mathematics, social studies, technology, language, science and health & wellbeing
• Topics such as land use; memories and future; ‘i work’ in Kilwinning; Kilwinning Abbey and its influence; ‘i live’ culture and community; ‘i play’ leisure time.

The project  resulted in presentations and exhibitions for parents, peers and the community.
