Project status: In development

Facebook marketing campaign

Senior pupils at Auchenharvie Academy are getting involved in developing Irvine Bay's Facebook page. The pupils are the first group in the school to take the Leadership Higher and the project will be a key part of the course work required to achieve the qualification. The team of 7 S6 pupils will lead on different aspects of the project, providing excellent opportunities to gain practical leadership experience to complement the theory of the course.

Our Facebook page was launched during 2011, with young people as the key audience for this vital social media tool. An initial campaign during the summer was linked with promoting the summer festival, Big on the Beach.

Now a group of senior pupils has the chance to develop their social media skills in a business context.

About the project

The team will work with a creative agency and a media company to produce a marketing campaign that aims to engage more young people to use Facebook as a means of participating in regeneration.

Pupils will work together to produce a plan to increase LIKES for the page, with a focus on creating a marketing idea that generates interest among young people and helps them get involved - and stay involved - in regeneration.

Curriculum for Excellence

The project will involve partnering with digital agencies and film-makers, with opportunities for young people to explore skills for work.
