A massive industrial site in the centre of Ardrossan is to be redeveloped, extending the already successful marina and bringing a much-needed boost to the local economy. This exciting £70m mixed-used development at Ardrossan North Shore is a major long-term project, set to bring change to the town over the next 10 years, establishing a new waterfront destination, creating jobs and bringing wealth to the area.

The multi-million pound project is a joint venture between Peel and Irvine Bay. A major extension to the marina and new leisure facilities will make the area much more of a destination for tourism and leisure. Office accomodation, a care home, and waterfront homes are all part of a comprehensive plan, as well as attractive open spaces, where currently there is derelict land.
Plans include development at both sides of the existing marina, with strong links to the town centre. The old pump house has already been revitalised as an Italian restaurant. Building on this success, new office accommodation, a hotel, a cafe and chandlery will be located near the harbour, with easy access from both the ferry terminal and the marina.
Commenting on the plans for Ardrossan, Chief Executive Patrick Wiggins said: These projects are hugely exciting news in the regeneration of Irvine Bay and will lead to the creation of over 400 new permanent jobs as well as around 300 jobs during the construction phase."
