Ayrshire coastal path

The Ayrshire Coastal Path from Glenapp to Skelmorlie runs 100 miles along one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the British Isles. With the superb backdrop  of the mountains of Arran across the Firth of Clyde, this coastline is steeped in history and teeming with wildlife.

The path links natural beaches and walkable shore terrain by means of tracks, promenades and old railways.

The Ayrshire Coastal Path is easily accessible by public transport along its route and can be walked in sections as day trips. It can also be completed in its entirety, a walk of some 50 hours.

If you are planning to walk the route, you are advised to check with the Ayrshire Coastal Path website for any path updates or changes. A comprehensive guide book to the Ayrshire Coastal Path can be purchased from the website www.ayrshirecoastalpath.org.

Another useful guide is the Ayrshire and Arran Coastal paths guide.

There are also other Ayrshire Paths many of which are ideal for both walking and cycling
